Etawa. The women in the group have a great responsibility in eradicating rural poverty. Therefore, as part of the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, a campaign is being started to connect the rural poor families with the group, the group with the village organization and the organization with the union at the cluster level.
Thereafter, four cluster unions are to be formed in each block. So far, 29 unions have been set up against 32. This was said on Sunday by the deputy self-employment commissioner Brij Mohan Ambedkar in a program organized in Vikas Bhawan.
He said that in district 7219 groups, 508 village organizations and 29 unions were formed at the cluster level. 80,000 women from rural and poor families are involved.
In order to take over the leadership of the village organization at the overall level, to strengthen it with financial and technical assistance and to increase the capacities of all members, a cluster union is required.
The Sankul Sangh does the work by bringing the poor families together in groups, leading them out of poverty and establishing unity and coordination within the village organization.
District Mission Manager Dr. Nand Kishore Shah said a cluster union was needed to connect village organizations and their groups with different institutions. By coordinating with government, nongovernmental and banking institutions, the cluster plays an important role in providing benefits to the groups from their economic and social services.
Here, by consensus, wreath-laying ceremonies were established in Pratapner by Block Badhpura, Abhishek in Saraibhagat, Prakash in Jugaurta in Jaswantnagar, Suraj in Baralokpur in Basrehar, Amber of Kumhawar in Saifai and Mamman Himatpur in Takha, Lakshya Sankul plain. Sub-committees will also be set up
DC Brijmohan Ambedkar announced that the following sub-committees will also be formed in the cluster union to maintain control over the groups. The cluster union may also set up other committees as needed, including a social and health committee, a subcommittee on banking and loan reimbursement, a subcommittee on purchases, a subcommittee on livelihoods, property investigation and monitoring.
