Etawa. In the village of Maniyamau in the Ikdil police station, the inspector attacked the sister-in-law with a knife on Thursday morning in a land dispute. She was injured in the process. She somehow escaped and reached the Ikdil police station complaining about the matter.
The police took the woman to the county hospital. Suman, the wife of villager Anand Babu, said her husband, sons Prabhat and Praveen were at the house Thursday morning. She wanted to go to the flour mill outside the village after tethering the buffalo near the house.
It is alleged that the brother-in-law started a dispute over the land while the mill was being built. When he struggled, he attacked with a knife. She was stabbed in two or three places in her hand.
The villagers who came to the rescue saved him. Suman reached the Ikdil Police Station after informing family members. He said the inspector’s brother-in-law is stationed in Chhattisgarh.
He came about ten days ago with the intention of taking possession of the village land. Police station chief Jivaram Yadav said the woman had been hospitalized. The matter is being investigated and action will be taken.
