Saifai. The Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai, has completed all preparations to deal with the possible third corona wave. A 100-bed intensive care unit, which is equipped with all the necessary equipment, has been completed for the children of the university. Doctors from all departments of the university are trained for this challenge for a month. This is what the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. Ramakant Yadav, following an inspection of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on Wednesday.
The Vice Chancellor said that children are more likely to be affected in the third wave. Against this background, the university had already started work in this direction itself last month. During the first and second waves of Kovid-19, thousands of people infected with corona were cured by the university. In view of the subsequent recovery problems of the patients affected by the second wave, the university has maintained a 100-bed post-covid ward. Such patients are treated there.
The head of the Department of Pediatrics and Pediatrics, Dr. Rajesh Yadav said that with a view to the third wave, a special 100-bed intensive care unit has been set up for the children. In this 50 beds intensive care unit (ICU) and 50 beds high dependency unit (HDU) were created for isolation. Severely infected children are treated together with normal covid-infected children.
Nodal Officer (Kovid-19 Children’s Hospital) Dr. Durgesh Kumar said 30 doctors and 25 nurses have been trained in the prevention of pediatric covid-related children. If you have a fever, cough, runny nose, fever in children for longer than three days and if you are corona-positive in the house, then you should have the covid test carried out as a priority.
