Etawa. The Parag Milk Cooling Center in Bakewar has been closed for four months. Because the contributions were not received, the farmers stopped selling milk to the dairy. The PCDF and Milk Union employees who work here have not even received their salaries for 20 months. Due to neglect, the center building is also falling into disrepair.
The Parag milk cooling center was built around two decades ago. In the past, dairy associations took milk from farmers and delivered it here. Here the milk was cooled and sent to the Parag Dairy in Kanpur. Then milk powder was made and sold in the market. When the farmers received hundreds of thousands of rupees, the committees stopped delivering milk to the center, according to the staff. In March 2021, work in the center was completely stopped. The employees had to pay salaries.
Center manager Shambhu Prasad, Vimlesh Yadav, field service manager Umesh Shukla, laboratory assistant Radheshyam Gupta, employee Sangeeta Devi received no salaries for 20 months. Pension funds have also not been paid in since 2016. Staff said that on Holi, Deepawali, Rakshabandhan five to ten thousand rupees are available in the name of salary. The staff say the officials made the wage claims several times.

The wife of laboratory assistant Radheshyam Gupta died on April 26 of a corona infection. Field Service Manager Umesh Shukla’s wife and brother also died. Because of non-payment of their salary, they could not even be treated properly. Center manager Vimlesh Yadav said a letter of complaint had been sent to the Parag Dairy GM and DM about this.
11 employees of the milk union were employed in the center. Nine employees have retired. He received neither a salary nor any other taxes. The employees have asked the officials to settle the arrears.
