Elephant drives jeep on Sadil Dam Road
Kalagarh. During the rain, a jeep that was bringing the new colony employees from Sandil Dam back from duty was run over by an elephant. Somehow the driver saved his life and drove the jeep back to Sadil Dam.
The night-shift guards Ompal and Yogesh were brought to Kalagarh by government jeep from Sadil Dam. The jeep driver Sher Singh drove. During the rain, as soon as the jeep was about three miles from the dam, an elephant came out in front of it. The elephant ran towards the jeep. The driver consciously began to reverse the jeep in reverse gear. The workers drove noisily back in the jeep and reached the dam. He informed the authorities about the incident.
Deputy engineer Manoj Kumar Likhwar said he had informed the forest authority about the incident. Under engineer Anil Kumar, a patrol from the Ministry of Forestry reached Sadil Dam. The patrol team returned to the colony in the government jeep and staff. In this case, the forestry department will be informed in writing that the increasing movement of elephants on Sadil Dam Road is endangering the safety of the employees. This incident caused panic among employees. Patrols should be activated on the route.
