Dulquer Salmaan on working in Guns & Gulaabs: Says he is pushing himself out of his comfort zone
Dulquer Salmaan is one of those rare actors in Indian cinema who fits into any type of film, regardless of language and genre. His exceptional script selection and impeccable acting skills have made him the absolute favorite of the masses. Dulquer Salmaan is now set to release his long-awaited film Chup: Revenge of the Artist on Friday, September 23. The versatile actor has a pretty impressive lineup, including the upcoming Netflix series Guns & Roses, directed by Raj and DK.
Recently, in an interview with Film Companion, Dulquer Salmaan talked about playing a pivotal role in Guns & Gulab. Interestingly, the actor revealed that he is playing someone who is not his age. Dulquer said that he is trying to get out of his comfort zone with the Netflix project. The charming actor feels that it is very liberating to be a part of such a film, since here he is just an actor and there is no pressure.
“I don’t have the pressure of box office and opening day like in Malayalam. Here I can come and play anything, I’m just an actor here. It’s wonderful, it’s very liberating,” said Dulquer Salmaan. He also revealed that Guns & Roses is a very entertaining show, set in a different period. Dulquer said that all of his co-stars, including Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gaurav, are brilliant actors.
“It’s set in this fictional city, and all these characters, what brings us together, I think it’s going to be a fun ride,” Dulquer said. The actor feels that his directors Raj and DK have very analytical minds. According to Dulquer Salmaan, there are many ideas and logic behind the works of Raj and DK, and what appeals to them the most. The actor also said that he really enjoyed filming for Guns & Roses in the longer format, although it was a bit difficult.
