Director Vivek Agnihotri’s recently released film The Kashmir Files is rocking its box office. The film has earned Rs 79.25 crore in just 6 days of release. It is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990. Many celebrities like Kangana Ranaut, Varun Dhawan, Yami Gautam and others have showered praises on social media. But Amitabh Bachchan’s recent tweet left netizens wondering if he was secretly praising The Kashmir Files.
“T 4222 -..we know now, what we never knew then..” tweeted Big B. Netizens tried to link his tweet to the film, making everyone aware of the brutal incident. However, people started calling out Senior Bachchan. For not having the courage to speak openly on this matter.
One Twitter user commented that Big B should have at least used the hashtag of the film’s name, while another user asked the megastar to clearly convey his message. Some also shared a clip from his 1982 film Bemisaal in which he gave a dialogue about the Mughals who discovered Kashmir.

Meanwhile, The Kashmir Files is showing a tremendous jump at the box office. According to trade analyst Sumit Kadel, “The kind of business that ‘The Kashmir Files’ did is truly historic for a small budget film. The last time a film with Jai Santoshi Maa recorded such an impressive business was in 1975. Like Monday and Sunday, it is ready to earn another Rs 15 crore by the end of Tuesday.
There has been a huge boom in the film business and most of it comes from the increased number of screens. Sumit further adds, “It was released in 600 screens. On Sunday the count increased to 2,000. It is currently running in 2,500 screens in India.” As far as the film’s lifetime collections are concerned, Kadel said that “even collections of Rs 200-250 crore cannot be ruled out.”
