Meanwhile, The Kashmir Files is showing a tremendous jump at the box office. According to trade analyst Sumit Kadel, “The kind of business that ‘The Kashmir Files’ did is truly historic for a small budget film. The last time a film with Jai Santoshi Maa recorded such an impressive business was in 1975. Like Monday and Sunday, it is ready to earn another Rs 15 crore by the end of Tuesday.

There has been a huge boom in the film business and most of it comes from the increased number of screens. Sumit further adds, “It was released in 600 screens. On Sunday the count increased to 2,000. It is currently running in 2,500 screens in India.” As far as the film’s lifetime collections are concerned, Kadel said that “even collections of Rs 200-250 crore cannot be ruled out.”
