After the closure of the Dlavghar, the garbage from the localities whose garbage used to be dumped here, did not pick up the garbage on Thursday. At present there are about 42 garbage dumps in the city. Many of these dalavghars are such that people have started agitations to get them removed and they have been demanding the removal of them in public interest. The officers of the municipality on Wednesday night ended the garbage dump built in front of Tyagi Colony outside the city on Roorkee Road. Here on Wednesday, the sanitation workers had collected the garbage from the localities. The garbage was not seen there on Thursday morning, but the work of filling the soil at the place of the garbage dump was seen to be happening at a fast pace. When garbage was not picked up from the surrounding localities, people complained to chairperson Anju Aggarwal. He reprimanded the officers of the municipality and instructed them to dispose of the garbage from the localities and take them to Dalavghar, while the sanitation workers got the locals cleaned. Anju Aggarwal told that when she inquired on the complaint of the people, it came to know that the garbage dump has been closed, so the sanitation workers have not picked up the garbage.

On the priority of the government, the garbage dumps in the areas like religious places, hospitals and schools have to be closed. Garbage is being dumped continuously in front of Hanuman temple. The temple committee has been demanding its end. At a distance of about 100 meters from here, in front of the city center is the Davaghar. The administration issued several instructions to eliminate the garbage dump in front of Idgah at District Hospital, Prempuri and in front of Hanuman Mandir near Shiv Chowk, but it was not implemented. Chairperson Anju Aggarwal took steps to finish the Dlavghar by installing a compactor on the hospital, but to no avail.
