Jhansi. Because of Corona, the vaccination of around four thousand children in Jhansi has been stuck in the last two months. Routine vaccination is affected due to the duty of health workers engaged in corona prevention and people incarcerated at home for fear of covid.
Children are vaccinated against various diseases from birth. These vaccines are given for up to five years, which protects children from many diseases. The vaccination campaign is running in the corona epidemic. In the first wave, children were vaccinated through a special campaign after the vaccination had stalled due to the lockdown. As soon as the second corona wave began in April, the vaccination campaign was affected again. In urban and rural areas, other health workers, including ANMs who vaccinate children, are involved in the corona vaccination. Because of this, the work of normal vaccination has been impaired. At the same time, for fear of covid, it was repeatedly avoided to take the children out of their homes. For this reason, vaccinations in private hospitals have also decreased. It has been said that 38 to 40,000 children are fully vaccinated annually in the district. According to this, the vaccination affects around four thousand children.
These vaccines are given
– BCG, polio and hepatitis B at birth

The government has received orders to begin general vaccination. Soon children in the district will be enrolled in urban PHCs, village schools, Anganwadi centers, etc. Ravi Shankar, district vaccination officer.
If normal vaccination is delayed for a couple of weeks or a month or two, there is no problem. In the medical college, the newborn is vaccinated immediately. Around 500 children will soon be vaccinated. – Dr. Omshankar Chaurasia, Head of Pediatrics, Medical College.
