Counting votes – Candidates can only count votes if Corona is negative

Sultanpur Only healthy candidates and agents can enter the Panchayat election counting hall. To do this, candidates or their representatives must submit a negative corona report or undergo thermal screening. The county council has issued a guideline to prevent corona infection. Preparations for the counting of the three-stage Panchayat elections on May 2nd are in the final stages. The candidates and their representatives must present the negative corona report 48 hours before entering the counting hall. Candidates and their representatives who do not report negative will be required to undergo a pulse oximeter and thermal screening test at the counting centers. Patients with a fever, cold or other symptoms will not be admitted. There will be a Medical Health Desk in the counting centers for the test. Medicines will also be present at the doctor’s desk. Candidates and agents applying for admission to the counting room must also maintain social distance.
The district judge has instructed candidates to provide the election officers with the list of their agents 48 hours before the count begins. As a precaution, the windows and doors of the chambers are kept open at the time of calculation. It is forbidden to gather crowds outside the premises. The GMO was instructed to disinfect all 14 counting centers in two shifts to prevent infection. Ballot boxes were also instructed to be disinfected. DM was also instructed to keep water, soap, and disinfectant in each of the centers. The DM said that after the count, the victory procession will not be taken out by any candidate. Action is being taken against those who do so. The DM has issued guidelines for the calculation and ordered compliance with them.
