Amroha. In the investigation report after the collapse of the wall of the stadium under construction in the first monsoon rain, the neglect of the standards was disclosed. Surprisingly, even before the handover to the department or even the start of the stadium, the pavilion wall and the stairs were cracked. The putty made on the wall has started to fray. In such a situation, questions were raised about the quality of the stadium construction. The stadium was to be handed over to the department by April 30, but could not be realized due to the upcoming construction work.
There is a mini stadium in Amroha Nagar of the district. But a sports stadium is being built for Rs 10.69 crore on 53 Bighas land near the village of Malikheda. On January 5, 2018, the former cabinet minister Chetan Chauhan laid the foundation stone. Construction of the stadium has been going on ever since. The construction of the stadium is currently in the final stages. This stadium should be handed over to the Sports Office on April 30, 2021. The construction work could not be completed due to the information provided by the executing agency. DM BK Tripathi and Naugaowa Sadat MLA Sangeeta Chauhan had expressed displeasure about this. Again and again the officials gave advice on the quality. But his words were ignored. This was the reason that on July 19, the first monsoon rain, the approximately 60 meter long wall of the stadium fell. The 20 meter long wall was bent in the process.
In the case of the collapse of the wall of DM BK Tripathi, a joint committee of SDM Sadar, Executive Engineer PWD and RES of the executive body was formed and investigated. In which the violation of standards was exposed. It was alleged that the contractor had not properly compacted the soil from the executing agency, State Construction Corporation. The wall was not built to the standards at the time of construction. As a result, the whole wall fell over. The structural quality of the stadium is in question. There is also a possibility that inferior material will be used in the construction of the stadium’s pavilion. Because even before the stadium is handed over, cracks are visible in the wall and stairs of the pavilion. The putty applied to the walls has also started to crumble.
The stadium was due to be handed over on April 30th. However, this could not be realized due to unfinished construction work. The pavilion has no crack. If hairline cracks appear, it will be fixed. There must be a few hairline cracks outside. Standards were observed during construction.
