Complete Paddy Purchase Will Be Done Through E-posh Machine


Saharanpur. Preparations have been started for the government procurement of paddy starting from October 1. 22 purchasing centers will be opened for the purchase of paddy in the district. These include eight of the Food Department, three of the Food Corporation of India and 11 of the PCF. This time, 100% procurement of paddy will be done on the basis of verification from the e-posh machine.
In order to get the minimum support price of paddy to the farmers, the government makes government procurement of paddy. For this, approval has been given to open 22 purchasing centers. Preparations are underway to provide all other facilities including gunny bags by September 25 at all the paddy purchasing centers. So that paddy procurement can start without any hassle from October 1. In the current season, the minimum support price of common paddy is Rs 1940 and Grade A price is Rs 1960 per quintal. Last year, 24 purchasing centers were opened in the district for the purchase of paddy. 11579.86 metric tonnes of paddy was procured from 3458 farmers at these centres. In the district, 273 farmers have already registered for selling paddy. This time farmers can register themselves only through Aadhaar authentication. An OTP will be received on the mobile number entered in Aadhaar at the time of registration. Using which the registration process will be completed. This time paddy will be procured from e-posh machine only.

These purchasing centers will be opened in Saharanpur Naveen Mandi, Punwarka at Kameshpur, Sarsawa at Sarsonhedi, Gangoh Naveen Mandi, Rampur Maniharan New Mandi, Nanauta, Deoband New Mandi. Food Corporation of India will set up paddy procurement centers at Saharanpur Mandi, Nakud and Sarsawa. PCF will open centers for procurement of paddy at Punden, Nalhera Gurjar, Kailashpur, Randeva, Budhakheda, Gangoh, Pheasant, Ghatera, Bhayla, Anwarpur Barauli, Halwana.
