BharuaSumerpur. To prevent inflation and black marketing, a team of four from the district judge searched the town’s pulse mill, oil mill, and grocery stores, inquiring about warehouse and retail prices. This action caused a stir among the shopkeepers. Many shopkeepers fled by closing their shutters.
DM Dnyaneshwar Tripathi formed a team of officials from the Department of Commercial Tax along with the Revenue, Marketing, Supply Department and gave instructions to review the prices of legumes and oil, especially with inventory, etc. On Wednesday, Naib Tehsildar Pramit searched Sachan, Marketing Inspector Sunil Kumar, Supply Inspector Girja Shankar and Commercial Tax Officer Grocery, Legumes and Oil Mills and inquired about prices.
The team said that Tur Dal sells for 90-100 rupees per kg. The price of cooking oil is 160 rupees per liter. Inventory is limited everywhere. For this reason, no action was taken against anyone. Several facilities were closed following the team’s raid. People did business by not opening the facility until after the team left.
