Simple. Three lakh cusecs of water has been released from Matatila dam in Betwa river on Saturday. Due to which the river is in spate due to the rise in the water level of the Betwa river on Sunday. The administration is constantly monitoring. The temple of the ancient Balaji Ghat, built on the banks of the Betwa river, which originated near Jalalpur village of Sarila area, has been submerged. The water level is rising further due to release of three lakh cusecs of water from Matatila dam into the Betwa river. Betwa river is flowing above the danger mark. The administration has also appealed to the villagers and fishermen not to go towards the river. Due to which the villages of low-lying areas of the area including Hardua, Badera, Virhat, Islampur, Jitkiri, Jamaudi, Ichhaura, Benda, Chandaut, Basaria, Riruva, Khandaut, Jalalpur, Bhedi Danda, Kupra and other villages have been alerted.
