In recent times, due to the fire in the powerhouse switch and the control panel of the Matatila Dam, the water supply in the metropolis is still dependent on the electricity from the rural feeders. But now the necessary switches and control panels for the power house have arrived from Lucknow. Soon the power house will be put into operation and the water supply will be restored.
For the drinking water supply of the metropolis, the water is supplied via pipelines after raw water has been taken from the Matatila dam and purified in the water treatment plant in Babina. Recently, due to the powerhouse’s breaker and panel fire, the water supply was cut and dependent on the generator. The department had announced the possibility of restoring the electricity in ten days. But Divisional Commissioner Dr. Ajay Shankar Pandey took it seriously and instructed to fix it in three days. The department officials then contacted Lucknow and procured the necessary breakers and switchboards for the power house. At the moment water is being supplied by a rural feeder, but due to the low voltage, the engine is running at low speed. It also gets hot which makes the engine run intermittently.
General Manager Jal Sansthan Kuldeep Singh said about 67 MLD water will be delivered. There was a water problem in the Civil Line area on Thursday. Because of this, the civil pipeline had to deliver water through the Dataia Gate filter. He said that the necessary equipment for the power house came from Lucknow. Will work on adding them on Friday. Hopefully the work will be finished by the evening.
