CHC has long been neglected
Afzalgarh. The 30-bed community health center on the city’s National Highway has long been neglected. On the one hand, patients do not receive adequate health care. On the other hand, not all health workers including doctors are employed.
A 30-bed community health center was established here on Panipat Khatka National Highway two decades ago as the government made facilities available to patients. In addition to nine doctors, including senior physicians, the posts have been created by dozens of health workers, but doctors or health workers have not been properly posted to these posts since the hospital was founded. Even today, the entire CHC is handed over to a doctor. The doctor is sent to the PM house once a week and must also attend the department meetings several days a month. The community, with more than two dozen villages in the region, depends on CHC, while there is no system of first aid in the event of children’s illness. Due to a severe condition, children must be moved elsewhere for treatment.
Residents of Javed Vicar, Manoj Chaudhary, Jitendra Chaudhary, Trilochan Singh, Mohammad Chand, Attorney Shahzad Alam, Robin Agarwal and Abhinav Pratap Singh urged department officials, including DM, to quickly deploy doctors and health workers to the approved posts of CHC and to ensure adequate health provide facilities for the residents of the area. In this regard, CHC Superintendent Rajnish Kumar says that department officials have been briefed many times about the vacancies for doctors and health workers. Efforts are constantly being made at department level to fill vacant positions.
