Fasting in Chaturmas started on Saturday. The sannyasis and mahants fast for four months. Jagadguru Vasudevanand Saraswati, a member of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust at the Alopibagh Adi Shankaracharya Brahma Niwas Temple, illuminated the glory of this fast on the first day of the Chaturma fast. He said that Chaturmas is almost the conductor of Sanatan Dharma Sanskriti. The fasting of Chaturmas is also mentioned in the Treta and Dwapar era scriptures.In a message given to students and devotees after worshiping the Chaturmas ritual, Swami Vasudevanand also discussed the guru-disciple tradition in detail.
