Siddharthnagar. The cutting is not stopping on the approach road of Rapti bridge located at Shahpur Singarjot connecting Siddharthnagar-Balrampur link road. Amidst all the efforts here, on the fourth day on Friday, the cutting increased further. Now the length of the cut has increased from 40 to 45 meters. At the same time, another crack has developed in the middle of the road in the middle of the cut off site. Due to this crack, a part of the road is expected to burst and merge into the river. People are worried that if this happens, even crossing the bridge on foot will become risky.
The cutting started four days ago in the approach of Rapti bridge. At the same time, through JCB and more than 50 workers, the work of filling ballasts in sacks is going on at the harvesting site. Despite this, the concern of the local people has increased due to the crack in the road. However, there has been relief in the rescue work due to the decrease in the water level of Rapti river.
According to the engineers, if the D-shaped wings had been made on the side of the road, then there would have been no chance of cutting. PWD had done unfinished work in road construction. Officials of PWD Balrampur claim that the erosion has been brought under control. In this regard, PWD Assistant Engineer Kamalakant Verma said that the cutting has been brought under control. Four-wheeler movement is likely to start after two days.
If the crack increases, the problem will increase
Ramvriksha Verma, a resident of Singarjot, told that if the crack in the road increases further, then the road for the people of Siddharthnagar to Balrampur will be closed from the Singarjot bridge, only the boat will be supported. Sukhai Giri says that four wheelers have been closed for four days. Now Utraula goes for essential works only by motorcycle. Ramprakash says that if the officers of the department had paid attention in advance, the problems of the people of the area would not have increased.
