Pathan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, directed by Siddharth Anand, is doing wonders at the box office grossing around Rs. 316.5 crore nett in India for Hindi version only. In its first extended weekend alone, the film had four days where it managed to cross Rs. Net limit of Rs 50 crore. This is the first time that a Hindi film or a Hindi version of a film has grossed Rs. 50 cr nett, quadrupled in its circulation. With Pathan, YRF now dominates the list of highest single-day box office numbers, taking 6 spots in the top 7.
Yash Raj Films has always been home to huge blockbusters in India and internationally. Over the years, several of his films have made it to the box office’s biggest day list. Veer-Zaara recorded the biggest day at the box office among Hindi films on its second day. Dhoom 2, Dhoom 3, Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai also had the highest single-day numbers among Hindi films. The current list is dominated by Pathan, who has secured four spots. Apart from the opening day of KGF: Chapter 2, the opening day of War and Thugs Of Hindostan also finds a place on this prestigious list. By the way, both Thugs of Hindostan and War once topped the list, which is currently headed by Pathan.
Here are the biggest singles divas (Hindi version) of all time at the Indian box office:
Pathan – Day 2 – ₹68 crore
Pathan – Day 5 – ₹58 Cr
Pathan – Day 1 – ₹55 crore
KGF Chapter 2 – Day 1 – ₹52.40 Cr
Pathan – Day 4 – ₹51.50 Cr
War – Day 1 – ₹50.61 Cr
Thugs Of Hindostan – Day 1 – ₹48.22 Cr
YRF has another big thing in the works that is part of their much-vaunted spy universe and is scheduled to release later this year, Tiger 3. In all likelihood, we might even see Tiger 3 a few places on the list. YRF is taking its spy universe very seriously, and the creators are discussing various permutations and combinations that can help make the YRF spy universe an even greater and stronger force. At the Pathan hit party, the director secretly announced Pathan 2 and Shah Rukh Khan also confirmed that he will be a part of the film, provided it is released.
