Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files starring Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi and Mithun Chakraborty is ruling the box office. The film is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, and while the moviegoers are loving it, some are calling it a propaganda film. A few days back, actress Yami Gautam, who is married to Aditya Dhar (a Kashmiri Pandit), tweeted about the film. She had posted, “Being married to a Kashmiri Pandit, I know firsthand about the atrocities of this peace loving community. But much of the country is still ignorant. It took us 32 years and a film to know the truth. Recently, while talking to Hindustan Times, the actress opened up about calling The Kashmir Files a promotional film. Yami said, ‘This film is beyond production. Also, beyond a point, you have to rule out a lot of things in your head. As long as you are part of something you believe in and you really like, you stick to it. “If someone feels the other way, why don’t they talk to the people who have spent years and years in those refugee camps? Many of them are still there and it has become a home for them. I think that they would be able to answer these people [asking questions] Better. I would like to go with the spirit of the majority, with my truth, with what I have heard, and what I trust. Meanwhile, currently, Yami is busy promoting Gautam Dasvi, which is set to premiere on 7th April 2022 on Jio Cinema and Netflix. The actress will be seen playing the role of a cop in the film, and in the trailer, she has impressed everyone.
