Woman Up S3 EXCLUSIVE: Mandira Bedi on her decision to adopt Tara: I wanted a younger daughter

Mandira Bedi has always been one such mother who leaves no chance to spend quality time with her kids. While she has been a proud mother to son Veer, Mandira won millions of hearts when she announced her decision to adopt a girl child and adopted Tara from Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh. Mandira has undoubtedly set an example for her fans. During her recent interaction with Pinkvilla’s Woman Up Season 3, Mandira opened up on her decision to adopt Tara and said that she always wanted a daughter.

Mandira said, ‘We wanted it to happen. I wanted a brother for Veer, I wanted a younger daughter and I love making her hair and putting bows in her hair and dressing her up. Looks like I have a little doll to play with. She is so sweet, sweet and lovely”. When asked about her advice on adopting others, Mandira recalled how she was given three options on the adoption form to choose the state from which she would like to have a child. “They give you those three options, so we had Maharashtra, we had Delhi, we had Punjab/Himachal, just because they had the three options they asked for. And “Anywhere in India” was in fine print as well. And that “anywhere in India” moves your position in that queue really fast. So that’s the only advice I would give to those who want to adopt.”

Apart from this, Mandira also revealed how Tara reacted when she stepped into her new life. The actress said, “Tara was overwhelmed. But we did those video calls. So, my husband went to go and pick him up because it was Covid time and MP had a lot of cases. Veer, Raj’s best friend and I “Take a private jet and we took off for Jabalpur, Raj did all the paperwork and met us at the Jabalpur airport and the first big car Tara traveled in is a private jet. She is a blessed little girl” Mandira also recalled that Tara was trying to drown in everything when she reached home and was greeted by the staff.
