Will Akshay Kumar’s film Bachchan Pandey beat Sooryavanshi at the box office? find out here [Exclusive]

During the pandemic, Akshay Kumar had two theatrical releases, Belbottom and Sooryavanshi. The latter, which was released during Diwali 2021, took the box office by storm and collected Rs. 196 crores. Now, Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchan Pandey is all set to release tomorrow (March 18). The trailer and songs of the film have grabbed everyone’s attention, and since it is a festive release (Holi), a bumper opening at the box office can be expected. But, will it be able to surpass Akshay’s previous release Sooryavanshi’s collection? BollywoodLife spoke to film exhibitor and distributor Akshay Rathi about it and he told us, “I don’t know about lifetime figures because Sooryavanshi got a long run, but here we have RRR coming just a week after Bachchan Pandey. However, at least when it comes to openings, I have no doubt that Bachchan Pandey’s opening will be in the same range as Sooryavanshi. “Also, when Sooryavanshi released, a lot of states were running theaters with 50 per cent occupancy. But, now many states are running theaters which will be full occupancy. So, this is another factor which will be an advantage for Bachchan Pandey,” he said. Directed by Farhad Samji, Bachchan Pandey also stars Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi and Jacqueline Fernandez. The promotion of the film is going on in full swing. As the film gears up for release tomorrow, Akshay shared a promotional video and captioned it, “With ManajiBachchan, #BachchanPandey in theaters tomorrow!”
