Subhash Ghai while speaking to Bollywood Hungama discussed many aspects of cinema and talked about the reasons behind the failure of many Bollywood movies. Post-Covid-19, Bollywood movies recorded a significant drop in their collections. While many films from the south did good business.
Subhash Ghai said about the lack of audience in theaters that often the budget of the movies is the main reason behind the failure of the movies. He says: ‘There’s always been a saying in the film industry that movies never fail, their budgets fail. The budget makes the film a flop. If you make a small movie for 5 million rupees and it makes 12 million rupees, then the movie is a success, but if you make a 100 million rupees business doing a 200 million rupees movie, then the movie is a flop.
He insists on the budget and says: ‘The budget of the film is important, that’s why the film fails’. Subhash Ghai also teaches film at his ‘Whistling Woods’ institute. He also wrote the story for his previous release ’36 Farmhouse’, which was released in January 2022.
