Another week packed with big announcements and trailer releases has come to an end. It’s been quite a busy week as Vijay Deverakonda’s highly anticipated flirting hit the screens on August 25th. On the other hand, Nayanthara’s romantic vacation photos with her husband Vignesh Shivan have stunned her fans. The trailer for Vikram Chiyan’s Cobra and Nagarjuna’s The Ghost is one of the highlights of the week.

In case you missed anything, here’s what you need to know about what’s been happening in the South Indian film industry this week.

liger: Flirting by Vijay Deverakonda, starring Puri Jagannath, released on August 25. The film received negative reviews from both audiences and critics. Despite negative reviews, Flirt has opened well at the box office.

Cobra trailer: Chiyaan Vikram’s highly anticipated Tamil action thriller Cobra, directed by R Ajay Gyanmuthu, will be released on August 31. Before the release, the creators unveiled the trailer that sees Vikram in multiple avatars. Also starring Irfan Pathan and KGF actress Srinidhi Shetty, the film will be released simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. Take a look at the trailer below.

Ghost trailer: The trailer for The Ghost of Nagarjuna was released this week and it looks entertaining and action-packed in every way. The Ghost will hit theaters on October 5 for Dussehra.

Surya’s Jai Bhim lands in legal trouble: Chennai police have reportedly recently filed an FIR against the film’s director TJ Gyanvel and producers Jyothika and Suriya for stealing the film’s story. The complaint was filed by a person under the Copyright Act on which the main character of the film is allegedly based. Read more here.

Tamil director Mani Nagaraj dies Tamil director Mani Nagaraj died of a heart attack on Thursday morning this week. Several celebrities took to social media and expressed their condolences to Mani Nagraj’s relatives. Mani made his directorial debut in 2016 with Pencil, starring GV Prakash.
