Singer Balwinder Safri dies at the age of 63.  Guru Randhawa, Gurdaas Maan and others pay tribute

Veteran Punjabi singer Balwinder Safri died on Tuesday. He was 63. Upon confirming the news of Balwinder Safri’s death, Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa took to Instagram and wrote: “We will forever honor your music and your contribution to Punjabi music sir. rest in peace Alvida Sir Balwinder Safri.”

Supposedly the ‘Tu Hoor Sonhiye’ The singer was admitted to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton, UK in April 2022 with heart problems. After triple bypass operations, the singer fell into a coma after brain damage. After 86 days in the hospital, Balwinder Safri was discharged and on the road to recovery but was unable to survive and died on July 26.

After learning of the unfortunate news, several artists from the Punjabi music industry took to social media to express their condolences.

Punjabi actor Neeru Bajwa recalled the ‘Par Linghade’ singer and wrote: “Menu yaad hai Balwinder ji nu asi windows tho dekya si while #beautifulbillo shooting… we were so excited. He was so gracious to us. Don’t make them like that anymore… Thank you sir for giving so much to the Punjabi music industry. You will live in our hearts forever #balwindersafri ji.”

Legendary singer Gurdaas Maan shared a picture of the late singer and wrote “Safri Saab” followed by bandaged hands emoticons.

Singer Jassie Gill shared a video on his Instagram Story featuring Gill, Babbal Rai and the late singer Balwinder Safri. He captioned the video: “Eh Mulakaat Hmesha yaad rahugi. Waheguru apne charna vch niwas bandhan.”


Following the sudden deaths of actor Deep Sidhu and singer Sidhu Moose Wala, the death of Balwinder Safri is another major loss to the Punjabi entertainment industry.

Balwinder Safri, known as the Bhangra Star, was a British-based Punjabi singer known for his popular tracks such as “O chan just makhna’, ‘Pao Bhangra’, ‘Gal Sun Kuriye’, ‘Nachdinu’and many more.
