Friday morning was sad for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his mother Heeraben Modi passed away early in the morning. She was admitted to the UN Mehta Heart Hospital for the past three days and took her last breath in the same hospital. One day before her death, Prime Minister Modi went to the hospital to meet him. He allowed the last rites of his mother Hiraben and she was cremated in Gandhinagar. Heeraben Modi lived with Prime Minister Modi’s younger brother, Pankaj Modi, in the village of Raisan, near Gandhinagar. The Prime Minister regularly visited Raison and spent time with his mother during most of his visits to Gujarat.

Bollywood actors expressed their condolences

Since the news of the passing of Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraben Modi broke, several Bollywood celebrities have shared their condolence messages for the Prime Minister on their Twitter accounts. Salman Khan wrote: “Dear Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi, I can feel his pain because there is no greater loss than losing his mother. May God give you strength in this hour of need… @narendramodi.”
