Friday morning was sad for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his mother Heeraben Modi passed away early in the morning. She was admitted to the UN Mehta Heart Hospital for the past three days and took her last breath in the same hospital. One day before her death, Prime Minister Modi went to the hospital to meet him. He allowed the last rites of his mother Hiraben and she was cremated in Gandhinagar. Heeraben Modi lived with Prime Minister Modi’s younger brother, Pankaj Modi, in the village of Raisan, near Gandhinagar. The Prime Minister regularly visited Raison and spent time with his mother during most of his visits to Gujarat.
Bollywood actors expressed their condolences
Since the news of the passing of Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraben Modi broke, several Bollywood celebrities have shared their condolence messages for the Prime Minister on their Twitter accounts. Salman Khan wrote: “Dear Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi, I can feel his pain because there is no greater loss than losing his mother. May God give you strength in this hour of need… @narendramodi.”
Another superstar, Shah Rukh Khan, who also respects Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his intentions, took to his Twitter account to express his condolences. SRK wrote: “Sincere condolences to @narendramodi on the loss of his mother Heeraben ji. My family’s prayers are with you sir. May his soul rest in peace.
Pan India star Pooja Hegde also wrote: “Deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Smt. Heeraben Modi’s death. He led an extraordinary life of bravery. My condolences to our PM Shri @narendramodi ji and all the family. peace.”
Ajay Devgn also shared his wishes for the PM, writing: “My condolences on the passing of Smt. Hiraben Modi. A simple and principled woman, she raised a good son in our PM Shri Narendra Modiji. Peace my personal condolences to our PM and his family @Narendra Modi.”
Randeep Hooda wrote: “My sincere condolences to Hon PM Shri @narendramodi ji. Your mother must have been so pleased and proud of you that you are engaged in the service of Mother India as your own mother. May God grant them everlasting peace. peace. #HiraBenModi”.
Ananya Panday also took to her Twitter account and wrote, “My condolences to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji on the passing of his mother Heeraben Modi ji. May God give PM Modi the strength to bear this loss. Our Thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. Peace.”
Vivek Oberoi wrote: “A life guided by religion and timeless values passed down to his son, who in turn absorbed and applied those traits in the service of his country. A nation bows in honor of his dear mother, dear PM Shri @narendramodi ji Om Shanti #HeerabenModi.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui wrote: “Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Smt. Heeraben Modi Heartfelt condolences to our Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and his family. May God give you the strength to bear this unbearable loss. Rest in peace Ms. Hiraben Modi.”
Shahnaz Gill wrote: “My condolences to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi on the passing of my dear mother Smt. Heeraben Modi There is nothing so precious and indescribable in God’s creation as the bond between mother and child. peace!”
Kirron Kher wrote: “Deeply saddened by the passing of Smt #HeeraBenModi ji, dear mother of the Hon PM Shri
@narendramodi hee. There is nothing that can fill the void of losing a mother. My thoughts and prayers are with the Modi family. May she rest in peace. Heartfelt condolences Om Shanti.”
Narendra Modi’s post for late mother Heeraben
PM Narendra Modi shared a photo of his mother Heeraben Modi on his Instagram account and wrote a long note. He wrote: “A glorious century rests at the feet of God… In Maa I have always been committed to that Triratri, which has included the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.” Heeraben lived with Modi. Prime Minister Modi’s younger brother, Pankaj Modi, in the village of Raisan, near Gandhinagar.
