Indian goalkeeper Rishabh Pant was injured in a serious car accident near Roorkee in Uttarakhand on Friday morning. He was hospitalized after surviving a car accident while traveling from Delhi to Uttarakhand. The images of the horrific car accident went viral on social media and the images left people in shock. He narrowly escaped after his car hit a divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway and caught fire. Now, a day after his accident, Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor and Anupam Kher have visited him at the Max Hospital in Dehradun.

Anil Kapoor and Anupam Kher visited Rishabh Pant at the hospital on Saturday morning. After his visit, he spoke to the media, during which he shared an update on the cricketer’s health. NDTV quoted Anil Kapoor as saying: “He is in high spirits and he should be fine, we also met his mother and relatives of his, they are all very well. Whoever is watching this, I would like to appeal to pray for him, that he gets well soon and we can watch him play.

Meanwhile, Anupam Kher said that he and Anil Kapoor went to meet Rishabh Pant as ‘fans’ of the cricketer, and also met his mother. “We heard that Rishabh Pant is in the hospital, so Anil and I, as civilians, came to see him. We met his mother and she is doing very well, her spirits are up and all of India is blessed.” They are with him so he will recover soon.

He further shared: “We met their relatives, everything is fine, everything is fine, we made them laugh. We went to meet him as fans. We take it as a responsible citizen to drive carefully, especially on foggy nights. I wish you all a very happy new year.

BCCI statement after Rishabh Pant accident

After the Rishabh Pant accident, the BCCI released a statement mentioning that Rishabh was admitted to the Saksham Hospital Trauma and Specialty Center in Roorkee, where he was treated for his injuries. He was later transferred to a hospital in Dehradun. “Rishabh has two cuts on her forehead, a torn ligament in her right knee, and also bruises on her right wrist, ankle and toe, and abrasion on her back. Rishabh’s condition remains stable and he has now been transferred to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of his injuries and plan his further treatment.

The BCCI further said that it is in constant contact with Rishabh’s family and that the medical team is also in contact with the doctors who are currently treating the cricketer. The statement concluded: “The board will ensure that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and receives all possible support to get out of this painful period.”

Cricket fraternity wishes Rishabh Pant a speedy recovery

Rishabh Pant fans along with the cricket fraternity prayed for his speedy recovery. Virat Kohli took to his Twitter and wrote: “Get well soon @RishabhPant17. Praying for your recovery. Sending you lots of healing, prayers and positivity. May he soon regain his strength and good health. Sachin Tendulkar also prayed for his speedy recovery, while Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting wrote: “Thinking of @RishabhPant17. I hope you recover soon and recover.”

Delhi and District Cricket Association director Shyam Sharma told ANI that a DDCA team would be at Dehradun hospital to check the cricketer’s health and if necessary they would take Rishabh to Delhi for a plastic surgery.

ANI quoted Paramjeet, a bus driver who rescued Rishabh Pant after his fatal accident, as saying, “As soon as we got him (Rishabh Pant) out, the car caught fire and within 5 to 7 seconds it was burnt out. He had many back injuries. We asked about his personal details and only then did he say that he is a cricketer for the Indian team.
