‘Looks like an uncle,’ Nivin Pauly is physically shamed over his weight gain while posing with Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham co-star Grace Antony
Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly recently had a reunion with his Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham co-star Grace Antony. They posed for a selfie together and hinted that the pair could be back in their upcoming project. When Grace posted the picture to Instagram, netizens brutally shamed Nivin over his apparent weight gain.
In the picture, Nivin smiled while sporting a grown beard while Grace pouted, linking him with a wink and a victory sign. The two looked amazing together and left many people excited to see them together. However, there were many people who showered vile comments on Nivin. While some said Nivin looked like an uncle after getting chubby, others slammed the actor for not staying in shape despite being an artist.
This isn’t the first time Nivin has been shamed for his looks. In 2020, Padavettu director Liju Krishna had spoken about Nivin receiving many negative comments about gaining weight. “People greet Nivin and then tell him he’s gained a lot of weight,” Liju Jose shared an incident from her filming location.
The director had revealed that Nivin was planning to lose weight for another project, but the actor made the sacrifice for his film at his request to gain weight for his role. He said that Nivin had heard many such comments from the public, adding that it was all part of his hard work and effort on the film.
Padavettu, which stars Nivin Pauly, Shine Tom Chacko, Aditi Balan, Shammi Thilakan, Manoj Omen and Remya Suresh, hits theaters on September 2nd. The film is written and directed by Liju Krishna, who makes his directorial debut with this thriller.
