Kartik Aaryan, who is now reinventing himself as an actor, has some very promising projects in his kitty. The actor’s latest outing Freddy, a psychological thriller that premiered on Disney Plus Hotstar, has received rave reviews. Kartik Aaryan is getting a lot of love from fans and moviegoers for him for his excellent portrayal of the lead character Dr. Freddy Ginwala. Gaining around 30 pounds and being trained by a real dentist, the actor underwent a complete makeover for the film.
In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Kartik Aaryan talks about signing Freddy. Here are excerpts from the talk…
Kartik Aaryan on signing Freddy
The actor, who revealed that he was looking forward to a project different from his previous outings, said that Freddy came to him quite unexpectedly. “I wanted to do something different from what he was doing. But he wasn’t looking forward to it. It just came to me. And I’ve been a fan of thrillers and dark movies in particular. When producer Jai Sevakramani approached me with this script and I heard the story, he was completely immersed in it. I mean, I had no choice but to say yes,” Kartik Aaryan revealed as he spoke to Pinkvilla.
Karthik on Freddy going the OTT way
In the interview, Kartik Aaryan also revealed that the Shashank Ghosh directorial is exclusively made for OTT platforms. “At that time the pandemic had started and the OTT boom was happening. So we decided that we will make this film exclusively for a streaming platform and we will design it accordingly. So, we decided what information should be found about Freddy.” It turns out, and vice versa,” added the talented actor.
