The unreal collections keep on coming for Kantara as he has collected another Rs. 8 crore on its fifth Friday, bringing the total to Rs. 217 million rupees approx. The fifth Friday of the film is the biggest Friday of the run, earning Rs. It earned Rs 7.30 crore on its fourth Friday. Every Friday since its release, the film’s collection has seen an increase.

The first two growths came from profits made in Karnataka alone, while the third came from additional collections of the dubbed versions. This week’s growth is fueled by the expansion of dubbed versions, as they all added new screens, leading to a 25 percent increase over last week’s collections. Furthermore, despite the release of Puneeth Rajkumar’s latest posthumous release, Gandha Gudi, Karnataka performed exceedingly well, down just 10 per cent from the previous week, which also opened yesterday with very good numbers.

The film will also see a spike in weekend collections, possibly around Rs. 35 crore vs. Rs. 31.30 crore in the fourth weekend and Rs. 38 crores in the third weekend. The total collection of the movie is around Rs. 245 million rupees until Sunday. Rs 300 crore seems like a laudable target.

Kantara’s box office takings at the Indian box office are as follows:

Week one – Rs. 26.75 crores
Week two – Rs. 37.25 crores
Week Three – Rs. 75 crores
Week four – Rs. 70 crores

5th Friday – Rs. 8 crores

Total – Rs. 217 crores

Kantara is now the second highest grossing in Karnataka, surpassing Baahubali 2 and just behind KGF Chapter 2. KGF 2 once seemed to be far from the target, but now there is a very real chance that Kantara will come out on top. Even if it falls short by a small margin, it’s close to beating KGF 2’s Kannada version numbers in the state.

The regional breakdown of Kantara’s box office takings is as follows:

Karnataka – Rs. 131.50 crore
AP/TS-Rs. 35.50 crore
Tamil Nadu – Rs. 4.50 crore
Kerala – Rs. 5.50 crore
North India – Rs. 40 million rupees

Total – Rs. 217 crores
