Jersey Box Office Estimates Day 2: Saturday Shows 50% Growth; Deposits Rs 5.60 crore

In terms of growth percentage, it has shown a whopping 50 per cent growth, which is a good sign, but the absolute numbers remain low. Jersey’s second day of trading is far lower than what it should have been in an ideal scenario. The Shahid Kapoor starrer will see another jump in the collections on Sunday, taking the total to Rs. 16.50 crores.

The film needs to show some miraculous turn of events on weekdays to somehow save face around the half century mark. Metros grew by 60 to 65 per cent, while smaller cities remained more or less flat with a slight jump of less than 10 per cent. The best jump in collection has come in Punjab, as the business has grown by 75 to 80 per cent, and this is certainly due to the local flavour.

All eyes are now on Sunday’s lead. It is a family film and if the film manages to double its Saturday business on Sunday with an unexpected twist, it would mean a positive sign for a healthy trend in the long run.
