Ellie Goni shares video of Johnny Depp being cheered by fans outside courtroom; They say, ‘Well it was not in India or else…’
As the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial comes to an end on May 27, Bigg Boss 14 fame Ellie Goni has extended her support to the Pirates of the Caribbean actor amid the ongoing defamation case against his ex-wife. He shared a video of a large crowd cheering for Depp outside the courtroom and said that if the Hollywood actor was in India, he would have been subjected to constant trolling.
“Like aaya. Achcha hua India mein tha varna people ne baatein suna ke troll kar kar kar kar mara kar diya (I am glad that this didn’t happen in India. People must have trolled him and killed him because of this), Sharing the video, Ellie wrote on Instagram Stories, followed by the hashtags ‘#MardBhiInsaanHai,’ ‘#JohnnyDepp.
The explosive court case has been brewing for the past few weeks, after Depp sued his ex-wife, Heard, for $50 million in a 2018 op-ed that she claimed to have been a victim of domestic abuse.
Although the op-end never mentioned Depp’s name, the previous Oscar nominee claimed it “devastated” his already dwindling career. Depp also claimed that he was actually the one who was abused in the relationship.
After failing to have the case dismissed or moved out of Virginia, Hurd countered in 2020 for $100 million. The countersuit came months before Depp’s UK libel case against The Sun tabloid, calling her a “wife beater”, proved to be a dramatic failure in November 2020.
