Drishyam 2 Second Saturday Box Office: Ajay Devgn starrer sees phenomenal growth; Adds Rs 14 cr to the tally
Drishyam 2, directed by Ajay Devgn, had a decent second Saturday at the domestic box office. The collections almost doubled from the second Friday and such a jump reflects the acceptance of the film among moviegoers. The second Sunday numbers will certainly dwarf the film’s first trading day and if all goes well, the second Sunday could go up to Rs 18-20 crore which is enough to pack an exceptional second weekend around Rs . 40 cr net.
Drishyam 2 started on a promising note with encouraging early bookings, grossing around Rs. 15 crores. The film continued to go from strength to strength and in less than 7 days the film magically collected Rs. 100 crore mark. After the second Friday of Rs. 7.75 crore, the second Saturday numbers are expected to be around Rs. 14 net cr. The film’s 9-day total earnings were Rs. 125 crore nett and the film positively grossed Rs. Rs 150 crore nett for the second Monday or Tuesday, based on Sunday numbers.
The launch of Bhediya split the business into premium single screens for Drishyam 2, but not by much. Drishyam 2 remains the top choice of movie viewers in India this weekend and is likely to remain so for a few more weeks.
