Brahmastra star Ranbir Kapoor seems quite nervous when it comes to being a fan of South Indian cinema [Watch]
Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy promoting his much-awaited superhero film Brahmastra, which also stars Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan and Akkineni Nagarjuna in pivotal roles. He recently visited Vizag with the film’s director Ayan Mukerji and RRR director SS Rajamouli, who are presenting the film in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. However, Ranbir seemed quite nervous as he talked about being a fan of South Indian cinema and naming his favorite South stars.
When Ranbir was asked what he liked about South Indian cinema, the actor leaned forward to understand the question, pointed to SS Rajamouli and replied, “Right now, it’s sitting to my left. He A pioneer of cinema, not just South Indian cinema.” He then went on to say, “But I have been a huge fan of South Indian cinema – if it’s Rajni sir, Kamal Haasan sir,” he added, “If it’s Chiranjeevi garu, Pawan Kalyan garu.”
Ranbir then saw the crowd cheering and recalling the names of other South stars, adding, “NTR and Ram Charan are dear friends. I have always loved Pawan Kalyan’s swag. He makes festive cinema. It’s his own. Entertainment in its purest form. I have always been a fan.”
Further, when Ranbir was asked the name of his favorite Telugu actor, he again looked at the crowd, took a pause with a nervous swallow reflex while speaking and replied, “I love my dear Prabhas. He is mine. Very dear friends. All of them are great. But if I had to choose any one, I would say dear Prabhas.”
Ranbir might be looking a little worried but he managed to please the crowd with his answers about South Indian cinema. During their visit to Vizag, Ranbir, Ayan and Rajamouli also sought blessings at the famous and historic Simchalam Temple before meeting fans at the prestigious Melody Theatre.
