Ali Fazal will soon be seen in the lead role in another Hollywood movie, a film based on the true story of an all-girls robotics team from Afghanistan.
Bollywood actor Ali Fazal has made a splash with his international projects, working with some of the best talent in the West. Last year it was announced that the actor had been signed to play the lead role opposite Gerard Butler in the action-packed film Kandahar, which will be released in 2023. Now the actor will be seen again in ‘Afghan Dreamers’. This film has been made by the two-time Oscar-winning director, Bill Gutentag. Bill has won the prestigious Academy title for his two short films, You Don’t Have to Die and Twin Towers. Filming for Afghan Dreamers recently began in Morocco and will have a 50-day schedule, with most of the film being shot in Morocco and Budapest. The film is a true story started in 2017 by Afghan tech entrepreneur Roya Mehboob as a way to help young women develop their skills in science and technology despite the country’s heavily patriarchal society. The film will be seen shedding light on the chaotic, sometimes dangerous, background of the country’s politics. The film tells the story of a team of Afghan girls who travel the world and compete in competitions, attracting global media attention and even meeting prominent politicians from around the world. Speaking of which, Ali Fazal said: “Thrilled and honored to share this news and to be led by Bill, who does an impeccable job. Afghan Dreamers is a very important story that needs to be told and I am happy to be a cinematic part of this story.” Let me tell you that the movie is being produced by Laura Overdeck, Samudrika Arora and Bill Gutentag and people have high hopes for this movie.
