Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon’s creature comedy Intruder has witnessed an upward trend in its opening weekend, though the overall 3-day total remained on the lower side. The movie was up 30 percent on Saturday and 15 percent on Sunday. As per initial estimates, Wolf is looking to raise in the range of Rs. 10.25 to 11.25 crores on its third day, bringing the first-weekend total to Rs. 28 cr range.

Multiplexes have been booming, but individual screens have been in the background. While an uptrend has arrived, the real test for bullion as a stronghold of the rupee begins tomorrow. 5 crores or more is a must for long term survival. Bhediya’s opening weekend is lower than Varun’s previous release, Jug Jugg Jeeyo.

Various reasons are given for the low numbers, including competition with Drishyam 2, but the real reason for the low numbers is definitely the lack of hit music. With a blockbuster song, Bheedia would have raked in at least 20 percent more, since comedy-horror is a genre that always guarantees a blockbuster song.

A flat weekend would have spelled trouble for Bheriya, but there has been some movement higher, which gives a glimmer of hope, albeit a slight one, as the film was supposed to show much higher earnings over the weekend.
