An update on Shanaya Kapoor's debut film Bedhadak - filming begins next year

Karan Johar shared an update on Bedhadak, starring Shanaya Kapoor, Lakshya Lalwani and Gurfateh Pirzada, amid news that the film is being shelved. The filmmaker has announced that the film will hit the stage early next year. Sharing the poster, he wrote: “Shanaya, Gurfateh and Lakshya are ready to hit the screens next year! Filming will start in the first half of next year !!!! #BEDHADAK!!!!”. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film marks the debut of Shanaya. Check out the post below:

In March, Karan Johar announced the film on his Instagram profile and revealed the first look. He wrote: “We bring you a new era of love – one that is filled with passion, intensity and boundaries that are pushed… #Bedhadak! Starring our newest member of the Dharma family – #Lakshya, @shanayakapoor02 & @gurfatehpirzada! Directed by the extraordinary @shashankkhaitan.”

Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya will play the role of Nimrit in the film. Unveiling her first look, Karan Johar wrote: “Introducing the beautiful @shanayakapoor02 as Nimrit in #Bedhadak. An enchanting force to watch out for, I can’t wait to see the energy she brings to screen!

Shanaya Kapoor burst into the limelight in 2019 when she made her debut at Le Bal in Paris. She began her career as an assistant director on cousin Janhvi Kapoor’s film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl in 2020. She also made a cameo appearance in Netflix’s hit web series The fabulous lives of Bollywood womenwith her mother Maheep Kapoor.
