Big Relief To Exporters, Now Refund Will Be Available Soon

Firozabad. The central government has given a big relief to the local glass exporters who are waiting for the refund to be received on exports. The portal will open within a week the application for refund on long-closed exports. Director Foreign Trade and Commerce has announced to make the portal smooth in seven days.
The exporters exporting glass and other products are refunded by the Central Government through MEIS a certain amount as rebate on the total exports. This portal related to MEIS scheme was closed for one year. Due to this the exporters were not able to apply online for the exemption available on the exported products. Due to the closure of the portal, refunds of about Rs 50 crore to exporters exporting local glass products were hanging in the balance.
On Thursday, Mukesh Bansal Tony of Export Association along with Rakesh Gupta of Export Promotion Council of India, Director Foreign Trade and Commerce, Government of India, talked through video conferencing and apprised them of the problem. According to Export Association’s Mukesh Bansal Tony, Director Foreign Trade and Commerce Anil Kumar Agarwal has assured that the long-closed MEIS portal will be restored in a week.
