US Vice President Kamala Harris is again facing anger over the Ukraine issue after a tweet from her handle wrongly indicated that Ukraine was a member of the 39-nation North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO. Harris recently visited Europe where he discussed the status of the Russian offensive with Polish President Andrzej Duda.

The tweet was posted on Tuesday evening and was deleted an hour later, but not before its screenshots were circulated on the Internet.

In Tweet now deletedHarris said: “While I was in Poland, I met with members of the US and Polish service, thanking them for standing with our NATO allies for freedom, peace, and security. The United States defends the NATO alliance. I stand firmly with the people of Ukraine.”

second, almost identical tweetswhich was posted about an hour later, said: “While I was in Poland, I met with members of the US and Polish service, thanking them for standing with our NATO allies for freedom, peace and security. The United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people and in defense of the NATO alliance.”

The only difference between the two Twitter posts is the word “and”, which makes it clear that the US supports Ukraine and the NATO alliance.

This is in line with an official transcript of Harris’ speech during the Democratic National Committee (DNC) meeting over the weekend.

The official transcript of the speech released by the White House included the word “and”, intended to make it clear that the Vice President had inadvertently omitted the word. Harris’s account is managed by the DNC.

But before the post was just taken down and the correct post was reposted, many users slammed Harris.

“It is the Vice President of the United States of America who sent what could have been Diffuse WWIII – including the nukes – and he doesn’t know the most basic facts about the situation. It is as dangerous as it is stupid.” Former Navy SEAL Derrick Van Orden tweeted.

“How long has Ukraine been part of NATO?” Another user posted Handle Recorder Music.

Ukraine is not a member of NATO. Russia justified its invasion of Ukraine on 24 February, calling it a “special military operation” aimed at preventing Ukraine from joining a Western military alliance.
