Varun Dhawan on the southern film industry: Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan’s movie ‘Bhediya’ will be released soon. The film is a horror comedy in which the actor plays a supernatural character. In this film, Varun’s opposite actress, Kriti Sanon, will also be seen in the lead role. Before the release of the film, Varun Dhawan started to worry a lot after seeing the box office gross of the latest Hindi films released.
Right now, Hindi movies are eating mouths at the box office, whether it’s Thank God by Siddharth Malhotra or Phone Bhoot, Good Bye, Double Axle. His earnings have severely disappointed the star cast. At the same time, South’s movies have also cut through the hype in Hindi audience areas, seeing the recent releases ‘Kantara’, ‘KGF’, ‘Pushpa’ and ‘Karthikeya 2’, Bollywood has started to worry about it.
We should be inspired by movies like KGF
Seeing the dilapidated state of Hindi films, Varun Dhawan admitted that “Southern films are overtaking Bollywood films at the box office. He feels Hindi films should be replaced by Rishabh Shetty’s ‘Kantara’, ‘KGF Yash and Kamal’s Chapter 2’ One should take inspiration from Pan India blockbuster movies like Haasan’s ‘Vikram’ Varun also added that now the audience of Hindi movies has reached a level where they would not like to see any mediocre movie “.
Hindi movies are washing
During the conversation at India Today Conclave, Varun Dhawan spoke openly about the success of southern films and their content, he said, “I know it’s very easy to say at the moment, because Hindi films are being phased out at the moment, so that maybe this is a good time and an easy answer for me to say this. I have always wanted to make films in Telugu, Tamil and Bhediya will also be released in Telugu and Tamil. This is a great time for all filmmakers, technicians and actors. It’s a good time to unite.”
Viewers don’t want to see substandard content
However, Varun also said that Indian movies are doing well all over the world and this is “the best thing for Indian movies to grow”. Concluding his talk, the ‘Student of the Year’ actor said: “The audience is not going to watch any substandard content or movies. They are not settling for any mediocrity. So we have to raise our bar. We have to take back and give them top-notch content, and to me that’s the only thing that’s going to work.”
