Rae Bareli. On July 20, 100 Kshetra Panchayat members from 10 blocks with the block leaders did not take an oath in the district. In Dalmau, 34 BDCs did not appear on the oath.
The special thing is that these BDCs were not even present at the first meeting of the Kshetra Panchayat. However, no separate swearing-in ceremony is held for these Kshetra Panchayat members. By reaching the blocks, these people can take the block chief’s oath.
After the election of the block chief posts, the swearing-in ceremony took place in all block headquarters on July 20. All BDCs were supposed to attend the ceremony to take the oath, but 100 BDCs out of 10 blocks did not show up to take the oath.
Only 1201 BDC took the oath in 1301 BDC. 34 in Dalmau, 20 in Amwan, 17 in Dinshah Gaura, eight in Kheer, nine in Lalganj, four in Shivgarh, three in Harchandpur, three in Unchahar and one BDC each in Rahi and Dih took no oath.
On the matter, DPRO Umashankar Mishra says there are no instructions from the government to reorganize the swearing-in program to take an oath for the Kshetra Panchayat members. The Kshetra Panchayat members who for some reason are unable to take the oath can reach the blocks and take the oath to the block leaders.
