Bareilly. The issue of land acquisition stuck in the extension of the NH-74 Bareilly-Sitarganj motorway is over. The district administration and NHI managed to convince the farmers. For lack of budget, it was agreed to make the highway 45 feet instead of 60 feet. A new proposal for the construction work has been submitted to headquarters for approval. Construction work is expected to begin as soon as the permit has been received.
Pilibhit Bypass, the hurdle to build four lanes from Bareilly Airport to Sitarganj via Pilibhit, has now been removed. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has started purchasing land from farmers for the four-lane motorway from Toulon. DM Nitish Kumar said land purchase preparations have begun. He said that in Fourlane’s proposal, 115 hectares from 21 villages in Bareilly and 145 hectares from 30 villages in Pilibhit are now being taken away from farmers. A corresponding notification will follow shortly.

Speed up the Khasra Khatauni review process

About 76 km. The process of the four-lane Bareilly-Sitarganj motorway started two years ago. This process has been postponed due to land acquisition and budget constraints. NHAI has conducted surveys several times in the past. The officials had already gathered information on the area of each village that will be included in the expansion. The review of Khasra-Khatauni for the acquisition is proceeding quickly. Then the expansion begins.

It will now be 45 feet wide instead of 60 feet

A proposal was made to widen the highway to 60 feet earlier, under which all the necessary documents were collected. However, due to the smaller budget, it was later agreed to expand the width by 15 feet to 45 feet. The proposal from the HNAI office in Moradabad has been received by the district administration. The finance team reviews the land documents. The takeover takes place accordingly.

The highway is also connected to the Bharatmala Corridor

It is said that the Bareilly-Agra road has already been incorporated into the Bharatmala Corridor. Now the central government has also added the Bareilly-Sitarganj motorway to the Bharatmala corridor. For this reason, NHI has now started the speedy construction exercise. After the construction of the motorway, the possibility of an accident in heavy traffic jams and rain will come to an end. It takes less time to reach Sitarangaj from Bareilly.

Eight years ago the game was in acquisition

In 2012-13, the NHAI had land purchased to widen this seven-meter-wide road to ten meters. By disregarding the rules, it was claimed that the display of commercial land in the villages of Hathmana, Sirsa and Madhopur near Baheri compensated for a multiple of the district rate. The then commissioner had sent his investigation report to the government, but it was buried in the government itself.
