More western filmmakers take their hats off to SS Rajamouli’s film RRRThe most recent is British director Edgar Wright, who has called the Telugu period action epic an “absolute blast”.

Wright, as the man behind Blockbuster baby driver, Scott Pilgrim vs the world Y last night in sohosaid he recently saw RRR at the British Film Institute (BFI) and received an “entertaining” watch.

“Finally saw @RRRMovie on the big screen at @BFI with a huge crowd. What a wonderful explosion. so funny. The only movie I’ve ever seen where the intermission card got the applause,” the 48-year-old filmmaker tweeted on Saturday.

The Hindi version of the film premiered on Netflix on May 20 and soon became the most popular Indian film on streamers around the world.

The film followed the fictional story of two early 20th century Indian freedom fighters: Alluri Sitaram played by Ram Charan and Komaram Bheem rehearsed by Jr NTR.

The official manager of the film also thanked the search engine for the gesture.
