Ayan Mukerji opens up on KGF star Yash portraying Dev in Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer
There is a lot of speculation about who will play the role of Dev in Brahmastra 2, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Many big names like Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh have come up but nothing is official yet. It was also reported that KGF star Yash was being considered for the role. Director Ayan Mukerji has now voiced his opinion on playing the role of Yash Dev in Brahmastra 2.
In her recent interview, when Ayaan was asked about the same thing, she told India Today, “I love Yash. It would be great if he plays Dev. I’m not kidding.” He also addressed the rumors that Ranveer would play Dev in the movie. “There were rumors about Ranveer Singh, the biggest rumor and other rumors about other actors, but I can’t say anything . The fun of Dev’s story is that it will come at the right time.” Previously, Karan Johar had dismissed rumors that Yash would be involved in the film.
Hrithik is reportedly one of the top contenders to play the role of Dev in Brahmastra 2. However, it is said that Hrithik might opt out of the film as he has Krrish 4. It was reported that if Hrithik leaves, Ranveer would like to step in for Dev.
Brahmastra Part One became a smash hit in the post-pandemic era. The film managed to gross over 400 crores worldwide. Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo as Mohan Bhargava was greatly appreciated by the fans as they got to see his favorite superstar on the big screen after a long gap of 4 years.
However, the film received a mixed response from audiences and critics. While the audience found Ranbir and Alia’s performances shaky, they also criticized the film’s dirty dialogue and confusing storyline.
