Auraiya. Following the by-election on Friday, a virtual oath was taken on the district’s leaders and members in 235-gram panchayats. Now the first committee-forming meeting will take place in these Gram Panchayats.
According to the rules of Kovid-19, the block development officers took the oath of office and secrecy for the members of the Pradhans and Gram Panchayat. With the swearing in, the Pradhans were entrusted with financial and administrative powers. DM Sunil Kumar Verma published an online swearing-in advertisement on June 16. The Gram Panchayat secretary reached out to the Panchayats and had all village leaders and members connected to the Zoom app. The BDO took the oath according to the covid rules in the office itself.
It is noteworthy that the oath has already been taken in 477 gram panchayats in the district in 242 Pradhans. 235 village heads were deprived of their oath for failure to meet the quorum. For this purpose, the post of Gram Panchayat member was voted on June 12th. The results came on June 14th. After the results were announced, 235 heads were sworn in on Friday.
