Vrindavan. On Tuesday, Vishwadharma Rakshak Dal President Vijay Chaturvedi met MP Hema Malini at her Vrindavan residence and submitted a memorandum to prevent the destruction of ghats of religious importance of Yamuna under the guise of Yamuna pollution and development. It is said that Mathura is the birthplace of Shri Krishna and Yamunaji is described in the scriptures and Vedas as his wife. Along with the big pilgrimage site of Yamuna here, 25 ghats have been built on the banks of Yamuna since ancient times. All the Ghats have their own importance.
He alleged that some people are destroying these ghats in the name of greenery. Yamuna is being removed by constructing a 30 feet high road in front of the old ghats. Due to this the existence of cremation ground, Dhruva Ghat, Surya Ghat, Markandika Ghat, Kansa Fort Ghat, Krishna Ganga Ghat etc. has become in danger. The old ghats have turned into dirty ponds. Not even a drop of pure water is available in the Yamuna river.
Dirty drains are falling directly into Yamuna. When the devotees see the dirty water falling directly into the Yamuna in front of their eyes, their feelings are deeply hurt. New diseases are being born due to contaminated water supply. The MP assured that she would soon hold a meeting by calling the Municipal Corporation, team of Yamuna Mission and Vishwadharma Rakshak Dal. Amit Raju Chaturvedi Akash, Malaram Shastri, Deepak Shastri, Upendra Chaturvedi, Dole Mohaledar, Banshibala, Sumit and Rajiv were in the delegation.
