Fans can’t wait to witness the magic of Anushka Sharma on screen after a long gap. The actress has chosen ‘Chakda Express’, a biopic of women’s cricket champion Jhulan Goswami, to make her comeback in the film. The story will revolve around the challenges that Jhulan had to face to make his place in the world of cricket. While Anushka is busy preparing for her next film, the sports star is busy with the Women’s World Cup 2022. On Saturday, she broke the record for most wickets in the Women’s World Cup against West Indies.
Many celebrities took to their social media handles and praised Jhulan for the huge achievement. Even Anushka praised him and called him ‘champion’. Earlier, Anushka was seen rooting for the team on her Instagram stories. The actress shared a post which read, “What an amazing win girls! Best wishes for the next match!! (sic).” Anushka Sharma is preparing and training to play the role of a cricketer on the silver screen. Recently, she took to her Instagram handle to share a video from her training session, in which she can be seen on the cricket training pitch. But she was seen doing leg exercises.

Chakda Express marks Anushka’s return to films after 3 years. She was last seen in the film Zero alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. To note, Chakda Express is Anushka’s first project after the birth of daughter Vamika, whom she welcomed in 2021. Chakda Express is directed by Prosit Roy and Anushka’s Clean Slate Filmz is backed by Karnesh Sharma. It is all set to release on Netflix.
