Hamirpur: Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for evacuating Indian students stranded in Ukraine and said building a safe corridor for the evacuation of civilians is no ordinary task.
Thakur said, “Prime Minister Modi provided all facilities to bring back the stranded students. He spoke to the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine. Creating a safe corridor to evacuate the students was no ordinary task.”
“Union ministers were also sent to neighboring countries to coordinate the evacuation process,” he said.
Meanwhile, criticizing the opposition parties, Thakur said, “The opposition made fun of PM Jan Dhan Yojana, but during the (Covid-19) crisis, our government gave financial help to 20.5 crore women every month across the country.” ”
According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, more than 17,400 Indians have been brought back under ‘Operation Ganga’ since the start of special flights from February 22 this year. The number of Indians airlifted by 73 special civilian flights has gone up to 15,206.
