The indiscriminate use of antibiotics is also responsible for the black fungus
Jhansi. Doctors at Maharani Laxmibai Medical College have started researching the black mushroom. In the initial phase of the study on 20 patients, it was found that black fungus is caused by the indiscriminate use of antibiotics along with steroids and high sugar content. Taking too many antibiotics kills the normal bacteria in your nose and mouth, which is what allows black fungus to thrive.
In Jhansi, around 50 cases of black fungus were reported within two weeks. Doctors at medical colleges have started research into this disease.
Dr. Anshul Jain, assistant director of the medical college and professor of the department of anesthesia, said mucor and rhizopas are the two main types that cause black fungus (mucor mycosis). These mushrooms are present in the environment. However, they are not harmful to humans unless immunity is weak. When the immune system is weakened, inhaling the spores of the fungus can cause an infection of the lungs or sinuses that spreads to other parts of the body.
According to Dr. Anshul, Kovid’s irrational use of steroids weakens immunity. Indiscriminate use of antibiotics is also wrong. The good bacteria in the nose and mouth are destroyed, which is what makes this disease flourish. While the full research is still ongoing, the situation will become clear in a week.
conduct such an investigation
Nasal swabs are also taken from black fungus patients to culture the bacteria and it is observed whether the bacterial flora (group of bacteria) from these patients is similar to others. Many types of bacteria live in the nose that prevent harmful bacteria and fungi from growing.
denied these claims
The deputy school principal has dismissed claims about black fungus growth due to using industrial oxygen or wearing a specific company’s mask. He said that these reasons do not cause this disease.
