Elderly farmer dies after being run over by a train
Chitauni (Kushinagar). A 65-year-old man died after being hit by a passenger train crossing the railroad tracks on Monday morning near the Salikpur outpost of the Khadda Police Station on the Gorakhpur-Narkatiyaganj railway section. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the location and sent the body for an autopsy.
Shivmangal, 65, a resident of Pathalhwa Tola, Paniyahwa Village, Hanumanganj Police Station, used to practice farming by temporarily hiding in Vindhyachalpur village across the river. Because of the flood in Vindhyachalpur a few days ago, after the water level in the Gandak River had risen, Pathalhwa had come with cattle. When the water level of the Gandak River sank, Shivmangal was on his way back to Vindhyachalpur on Monday morning. A passenger from Gorakhpur-Narkatiyaganj was caught by the train while crossing the Gorakhpur-Narkatiyaganj railway line near the Salikpur police station. Because of this, he died on the spot. The police chiefs of the Salikpur Police Station Ram Gopal Yadav, Rahul Yadav, Raghavendra Mishra and Awadhesh Kumar who obtained the information identified the body and sent it for an autopsy.
